Coutinho back in training

Barcelona have confirmed that Philippe Coutinho is back in training. The Brazilian had a thigh problem and was scheduled to be out for 2-3 weeks.

He has been out of action since the 1-1 draw vs Inter Milan and was eventually out of brazil's squad as well. The early return is a big boost for Barcelona who take on Atletico Madrid this weekend.

The Catalan side are already without Ivan Rakitic after he picked up an injury on international duty. Even if the Croatian was fit, he was suspended for the game as he was sent off vs Real Betis last weekend.

The 33-year-old has had a very bad stay Camp Nou and it is a surprise that he has lasted so long at the club. He has been injured most of the time and was AS Roma in 2016/17.

Vermaelen has been at the club for six seasons and has made just 32 starts in La Liga. 12 of those appearances came last season and now he is back on the bench.
