Ernesto Valverde guarantees more signings
Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has guaranteed that there will be a couple more arrivals at Camp Nou. So far, the Spanish side have signed only Arthur Melo, Clement Lenglet and Malcom and need further reinforcements if they are to challenge for the Champions League this time around.
“We're open to any possibility. It's true that we've had some big departures in midfield so it's likely that we will make more signings. We want players that fit our style. We need people that can generate play through the middle – and if they can get forward into the box, too, even better,” Valverde explained.
Barcelona dealt huge blow
According to several reports in the English media, Chelsea have accepted a whopping €75 million offer from Manchester United for Brazilian winger Willian. Barcelona were keen on signing Willian this summer and had three bids rejected. It now appears they are out of the running as United's offer, which includes add-ons and other bonuses, has been accepted.
Willian would now need to accept personal terms with the club before the deal can be finalized.
