Madrid rekindle James interest
Real Madrid have set their sights on former player and Bayern Munich star James Rodriguez after failing in their pursuit of Hazard. The attacking midfielder is currently on loan at Bayern, who also possess an option to buy him for £38m. Madrid though need reinforcements and Lopetegui has identified Rodriguez as the man to take them forward.
However, the player himself has shot down the move. "So far I am still at Bayern," Rodriguez stated. "I am happy and they have shown their affection for the people and the team."
Courtois deal close to completion
Real Madrid are inching ever so close to completing a deal for Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois. Reports in Don Balon suggest that a deal could be completed in a matter of hours, with Madrid having lost faith in their current keeper. They are likely to offer Keylor Navas an extension but feel they need a solid No. 1 which Courtois is expected to be.
