Ernesto Valverde is staying at Barcelona
Barcelona fans want Ernesto Valverde sacked as soon as possible but the board seem to have made their minds up on keeping the manager for another season. Reports yesterday suggested that the Catalan side were set to sack the former Athletic Bilbao manager but later in the day, reliable reports suggested that the sacking rumours were false.
Roberto Martinez was being linked as the next manager for Barcelona as well and it got a lot of fans excited. However, the Catalan side denied those rumours too when Mundo Deportivo contacted them for comments.
Martinez also confirmed that he has not agreed to become the next Barcelona manager. The Belgian manager said, “I do not say “yes” to anyone without first talking to Bart [Verhaeghe] and Mehdi [Bayat] (Belgian football federation) first.”
Arsenal's Unai Emery and former Everton manager, Ronald Koeman were also linked with the Catalan side.
