Real Madrid finalise Brahim Diaz deal
Real Madrid and Manchester City have finally agreed a deal for Brahim Diaz. The Spanish youngster will be joining the Bernabeu side for £15.5 million with a few clauses added to his contract by City.
Jamie Jackson reports that City have inserted a 15% sell-on clause on his contract at Real Madrid. That means that Madrid will owe the Premier League champions 15% of whatever fee they sell Diaz for in the future.
However, the sell-on clause increases to 40% if he is being sold to any other Manchester club, ie Manchester United. City are also entitled to get another £6.5 million based on his performances and progress at Madrid.
Diaz's contract at Etihad was expiring at the end of the season and he was not willing to sign a new deal. He wanted a first-team role at City but the Premier League side were unwilling to guarantee him one.
