Real Madrid cannot compete with Barcelona without Ronaldo, says Valdano

Real Madrid have lost 2 of the 3 El Clasicos this season and former manager Jorge Valdano isn't impressed. He believes that Los Blancos made a huge mistake of not replacing Ronaldo and claims they cannot compete with their arch-rivals without him.

"When they had a guy in their team who had such a knack for putting the ball away, Madrid were characterised by how clinical they were in front of goal," he said.

"But he's no longer there. Barça have a superstar in their ranks and Madrid don't anymore; Cristiano leaving has had a crucial effect. Without Ronaldo, Madrid find it much harder to come through games that they don't deserve to win," added the manager.

Barcelona's Sergi Samper to Vissel Kobe

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Samper is set to join Andres Iniesta and David Villa at Japanese side Vissel Kobe according to reports in Spain. He is out of contract in the summer and has been tempted to make the move to Asia.

Reports suggest that he will be travelling to Japan to sign the contract on Tuesday. However, it is not clear if he will be joining them next week or later in the summer.

Real Madrid offered Luka Jovic

Luka Jovic has been in brilliant form and he has attracted the attention of several top European sides. The striker is currently at Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Benfica this season.

The German side are set to activate their option-to-buy and then sell him for €60milion. Reports in Marca now suggest that he has been offered to Real Madrid despite interest from Chelsea and Barcelona.
