What's the story?
According to reports from Independent, Manchester United star Paul Pogba is desperate for a move away and wants to feature for Real Madrid in the upcoming season.
In case you didn't know...
There is no doubt that a player like Pogba is an asset for the Red Devils but the French midfielder is enduring a roller-coaster of a season filled with controversies and rumors.
The 26-year-old went through a rough patch under former boss Jose Mourinho but was backed by Manchester United. Pogba got back to his usual best once Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over from Mourinho in December.
With 13 goals and 9 assists in the Premier League, he has been helping United in the race for a top-four spot. But once again, the midfielder finds himself in a rough patch after poor performances in the last 10 games. Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
There is still a couple of years left in his current contract with Manchester United. But the Frenchman himself flaunted his admiration towards Real Madrid recently and even Zinedine Zidane revealed that he admires him.
The heart of the matter
It is an open secret that Pogba is one of the top players on Real Madrid's wishlist this season as the Spanish giants look to revamp their squad with some world class reinforcements.
According to the report, Pogba himself is willing to engineer a move out of Manchester United. The Red Devils' failure to compete at the biggest stages in Europe remains a concern for the French midfielder, who does not want to waste his prime years.
Pogba did come close to joining Real Madrid or Barcelona a few years ago but United were quick to respond. Although United maintain a tough stance on Pogba's transfer fee, they are more open to selling than they were a few months ago and a bid around £130 million should be enough to secure his services.
What's next?
Manchester United will face Huddersfield next in the Premier League as they continue their fight for a top-four finish this season.
