PSG went top of Ligue 1 with a 2-3 victory at Marseille

Paris, April 6 French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain claimed a thrilling 3-2 win on an own goal in Marseille, after cancelling Andre-Pierre Gignac's brace on Sunday. Le Clasique lived up to its name at the Stade Velodrome as Gignac's opener was equalized within five minutes, Xinhua reported.

On the half-hour mark, the Marseille top scorer rose above Marquinhos to power a header beyond Salvatore Sirigu from Dimitri Payet's deflected cross. Just five minutes later, Blaise Matuidi steered to the ball from the edge of the home box into the far top corner, moments after David Luiz limped off.

Gignac, however, kept his nerve to fire home into a half-time lead on 43 minutes following some loose play from PSG, before the visitors pulled level four minutes after the restart. Marquinhos led the second comeback of the defending champions, poking home from close range to goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic's mis-hit free kick.

Then in the 53rd minute, the Swede forced Jeremy Morel to put the ball through his own net from Pastore's deflected cross.

With the away victory at Stade Velodrome, Laurent Blanc's side went back to top the table, moving one point clear of Lyon and leaving Marseille five points behind the pace setters in the third position.

Earlier on Sunday, Caen struck twice in the last 10 minutes to stun Nantes 2-1 and move six points clear of the drop zone, and Nicolas Maurice-Belay's stoppage-time goal saw Bordeaux claim a 2-1 win over rock-bottom Lens.
