French side Lille have officially accepted West Ham’s €3.5m for Ivory Coast international Salomon Kalou, reports ESPN.
The former Chelsea player was released from the London-based club in 2012, and was signed by Lille on a free transfer.
Kalou had a decent debut season for the Ligue 1 side, scoring 14 goals in the league. However, reports claim that Lille are looking to reduce their wage bill and decided that they had to let the striker go.
Meanwhile, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce would be keen on signing the player so as to strengthen his attack, having already purchased Andy Carroll from Liverpool. But Carroll is known to be injury-prone and there are no decent back up options at the club.
However, it remains to be seen whether West Ham and Kalou can agree to to personal terms.
