Messi, Suarez and Neymar have scored 58 goals in La Liga between them this term and their form over the last two seasons has seen them labelled the strongest attacking trident the game has ever seen.
Now, Messi who was absolutely sensational against Arsenal in the Champions League said that friendship between MSN is what makes them so successful.
Messi speaking on his two goals against Arsenal to the official website of UEFA said:
"It was a very fast break which is how we like to play – with open space – and luckily we were able to do that," said Messi about his first goal.
When asked about his relationship with Neymar and Suarez, he said:
"It's wonderful playing with them. We get along really well on and off the pitch.
"We really are friends and that is really important to enable us to play this kind of football."
Barcelona’s win against Arsenal extended their winning streak to 33 matches.
Cristiano Ronaldo says performances on the pitch are more important than relationships off it
Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that performances on the pitch are more important than relationships off it.
The Portuguese captain was asked about his relationship with fellow Real Madrid forwards Bale and Benzema in comparison to the close bond shared between Barcelona’s super attacking trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez.
There have been rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo has been miffed at the fact that Gareth Bale’s £85m move overshadowed his own transfer to Real Madrid, however, he has insisted that it is not the case and he feels pretty appreciated playing for Los Blancos.
"Do I feel appreciated? Yes, of course, absolutely. How could it not be so? I always play, I’ve scored a few goals and I’m at the best club in the world," he added.
“We are not best friends but we certainly do not hate each other.
“Anyway how I perform on the pitch has nothing to do with my relationship off it.”
Although they might have different views on the importance of friendship between team-mates, there is no arguing the fact that both are extremely effective for their teams in their own way.
