#2 2011-12 (60 goals, 55 apps)
The 2011-12 season saw Real Madrid finally break Barcelona's stranglehold over the Spanish top flight. This is a season which many argue was Ronaldo's very best for Real Madrid and its hard to argue with this.
Ronaldo scored 46 goals in 38 goals in the league which was his second season in a row scoring at least 40 goals in La Liga. This ridiculous tally, however, was not enough for the Portuguese to win the Golden Boot as Messi managed to score a record-breaking 50 goals that season.
Ronaldo also scored 10 goals in as many games in the Champions League, which was the first time he had scored more than 10 goals in a single season in his career, it would not be his last time though.
This was his second-most successful season statistically but, as aforementioned, is regarded by many as his very best season for Real Madrid, due to his general level of play.
#1 2014-15 (61 goals, 54 apps)
In first place is Cristiano Ronaldo's fabled 2014-15 season for Real Madrid. This season saw the Portuguese collect his 3rd Ballon d'Or, the European Super Cup, the Club World Cup, the Pichichi, and the Golden boot.
This season Ronaldo scored a stupendous 48 goals in 35 games in La Liga and whilst this fell 2 short of Messi's record of 50, his goal-to-game ratio of 1.37 was superior to Messi's in 2012 and had Ronaldo played more he probably would have surpassed Messi.
Nevertheless, it was a stellar season for Ronaldo that saw him score 5 goals in a single game for the first time in his career. Additionally, he scored 10 goals in the Champions League which was the 4th consecutive season that the Portuguese had done that.
As well as being Ronaldo's highest goalscoring season, it was also his best in terms of goal-to-game ratio, with the Portuguese managing to average 1.13 goals a game.
