#5 Sergio Aguero looked off-colour on return from ban
After getting a 4-game ban following his red card against Chelsea, Sergio Aguero saw his team win three out of the four matches from the sidelines. However, his return to the playing XI in the game against Liverpool was a major talking point with everyone acknowledging the importance of the striker in City’s quest for glory in the Premier League.
But the Argentine striker’s game looked very rusty as he failed to make any impact in the game. With just two weak shots on either side of the half-time break, and negligible contribution in the team’s attempts for attacks build-up, Aguero was arguably City’s worst player on the field in the match.
Seeing his Manchester City fall 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea, Pep Guardiola will know that he needs his talismanic striker back in top form very soon along with Kevin De Bruyne (who also had an indifferent game) in the coming matches to be able to surmount a serious challenge for the league title.
