Arsenal Player Ratings

Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal the lead

Bernd Leno - 5/10

He wasn't at fault for any of Liverpool's goals, but Arsenal's game-plan wasn't helped by Leno. He was uncertain with his distribution, and that fed into Liverpool's intense pressing.

Hector Bellerin - 5/10

His night was summed up by getting pulled up for foul throws twice! He had an awful time against Mane, and really couldn't live with the Senegalese. He also didn't really have any real impact going the other way.

Rob Holding - 5/10

He wilted under the pressure that Liverpool were putting on Arsenal. As the game went on, his passing got progressively worse, and the defending was getting even tougher, as Liverpool found spaces more easily.

David Luiz - 6/10

After his Anfield nightmare last year, this appearance was a lot better. He still could have cleared the ball a bit better, instead of straight into Jota's path for him to volley home.

Kieran Tierney - 4/10

After several top-notch performances, Tierney was brutally exposed by Salah tonight. The Egyptian's pace, strength, dribbling were all too much for the young Scot to handle.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles - 3/10

He was anonymous in this game. He didn't really help out Tierney in defending against Salah. But on the other end of the pitch, he really didn't support Aubameyang enough either.

Granit Xhaka - 4/10

Liverpool hunted him down like a pack of wolves everytime he had the ball. The one time he played out of that press, it led to the Arsenal move from which they scored.

Mohamed Elneny - 5/10

Firmino dropping deep, Keita driving from midfield, Wijnaldum finding spaces, it was all a bit too much for Elneny to deal with.

Willian - 2/10

The Brazilian had his worst game in an Arsenal shirt so far. He was not able to create any chances, and in truth, didn't really work hard to get the ball at his feet either.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 1/10

The Arsenal captain made eight successful passes all game. He was never really even close to threatening Alisson in the Liverpool goal.

Alexandre Lacazette - 6/10

He scruffed the shot for his goal, after being gifted the ball by Robertson. He should have doubled up in the second half, but really didn't make Alisson work hard to make that save.

Substitutes

Dani Ceballos - 7/10

Even though he only came on to the pitch in the 60th minute, Ceballos was the best Arsenal player onshow. He showed that his passing ability was key to Arsenal being able to create chances, even against opponents of this quality.

Nicolas Pepe - 4/10

He had two corners, both of which were low and straight at the first man defending the near post.

Eddie Nketiah - N/A

He hardly touched the ball after replacing Lacazette late in the game.
