#4 PSG make it easy for Liverpool in the second half
Since Thomas Tuchel has taken over the reigns from Unai Emery, PSG have scored for fun in the second halves of their matches and a similar trend was expected to continue against Liverpool. But the Parisians seemed to lack the desire from the get-go to find an equalizer and put pressure on the home side.
The Paris side, when in possession, were too slow to recycle the ball and hence, could not take any advantage during transitions. The front three did not press the Liverpool defence which enabled Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to step out and dictate the play from the back.
Until the last quarter of the game, PSG were not looking like a team that was a goal down and needed to get back in the game. Sloppy passes, a neutralized Neymar and a lacklustre midfield without Marco Verratti handed Liverpool the advantage and ultimately, the match.
