Everton

joel robles
Joel limited the damage for Everton

Joel Robles – 7/10

Joel Robles let in 4 goals but essentially kept it down to that. He kept Everton in the game initially after two fantastic one on one saves. He limited the damage when the game crept away from them.

Bryan Oviedo – 5/10

He did reasonably well for an emergency right back but was left chasing his tail by a sublime Philippe Coutinho on the night.

John Stones – 5/10

John Stones looks nowhere near his best at the moment. He was left for dead on a number of occasions and eventually left the field injured.

Ramiro Funes Mori – 3/10

It wasn’t like Funes Mori was having the best game, a horror tackle borne out of frustration completely killed Everton’s chances of fighting back.

Leighton Baines – 6/10

Leighton Baines did well to silence Lallana and Firmino on occasions but was left quite lost by James Milner when he drifted wide. Jordon Ibe came on in the end to take advantage of his tired legs.

Gareth Barry – 6/10

Gareth Barry seemed to be the one player who may have made a difference in the Derby with the Englishman occasionally threatening the Liverpool team with some excellent passing and vision. He eventually fizzled out and had to be substituted off early in the second half.

James McCarthy – 6/10

James McCarthy had to play as a midfielder and later as a defender. He began brightly but eventually lost out.

Ross Barkley– 5/10

After an initial burst of quality and an impressive few breaks on the counter attack, Barkley was invisible on the night. He was substituted in the second half.

Kevin Mirallas – 6/10

Kevin Mirallas started the game on fire. His swift link up play and excellent bursts of speed on the counter caused Liverpool a problem or two but he eventually fizzled out like most of his teammates.

Aaron Lennon – 5/10

There wasn’t much that Aaron Lennon offered offensively but you could argue that he had to spend most of the game trying to defend. He looked very out of sorts in the game as well.

Romelu Lukaku– 6/10

Devoid of any service, the Belgian barely had anything to do in the second half after threatening on some occasions in the first.

Substitutes

Muhammed Besic – 4/10

Muhammed Besic basically came into a game that was not going to let him do anything of note. He ended up playing at center back after the sending off and John Stones’ injury.

Tom Cleverley – 4/10

It was hard to notice that Tom Cleverley was even on the pitch for the majority of time after he came on.

Steven Pienaar – 4/10

Steven Pienaar did not do much as Liverpool dominated the ball.
