According to BBC, Liverpool have agreed to sign left-back Aly Cissokho from Valencia on a season long-loan deal.
Cissokho was linked with Sunderland, but instead decided to join Liverpool on loan initially, with provisions of a permanent move at Merseyside.
Guilherme Siqueira of Spanish club Granada was Brendan Rodgers’ first choice but the clubs failed to agree a fee.
However, the 25-year-old left back, who has one France cap, will not be at Anfiled for the opening match against Stoke on Saturday.
Cissokho, it is understood, will travel to Anfield next week to undergo a medical and agree personal terms
