Liverpool has confirmed that they have roped in Andy Hughes as the Anfield side’s new chief financial officer. He will take up the role which was previously presided over for five years by Phillip Nash.
Hughes, who will join the office on 8th July, has previously worked with Hilton Hotels, real estate and travel company Cendant Corporation and accountancy firm Ernst & Young.
Hughes will be working closely with managing director Ian Ayre and commercial director Billy Hogan.
The former chief financial officer of Guoman and Thistle Hotels said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining and there is real opportunity to further develop the club’s financial operations.”
Ayre added: “Our financial operations are a crucial part of the club’s business. As we continue with our growth, it is essential that we have the right experience in these key positions. Andy has a long track record of delivering successful results in a variety of challenging roles. He will be responsible for all of the club’s financial management and I am delighted to announce this appointment.”
