Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to the signature of Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri for a fee in the region of £15 million, according to the Daily Star.
Shaqiri has been highly-sought after by Liverpool for a number of months and the Swiss international’s future as been the subject of intense speculation recently with the Reds hot on his heels.
Shaqiri, who recently admitted interest in moving to Liverpool, has been a bit-part player for Bayern Munich since joining the club and he is expected to be offloaded by Pep Guardiola this summer, if the Bavarian giants receive the right offer for the wingers services.
Liverpool made a bid of £15 million last week for Shaqiri and it has been accepted according to reports, with the Swiss star turning down lures from Manchester United as he wishes to play in the Champions League.
Shaqiri is capped 32 times for Switzerland and he is travelling with the national team this summer to Brazil as they participate in the World Cup. The former Basle man is his countries main man and he will be hoping to put on a good show for any potential suitors.
Liverpool have already snapped up Rickie Lambert and have also agreed a fee in principle for Emre Can. Shaqiri created 25 chances in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season.
