Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has called Tottenham Hotspur's sacking of Mauricio Pochettino "strange and out of order". The Argentine manager was given the sack by the north London club yesterday, following Spurs' poor start to the season.
Carragher believes Pochettino deserved to see out the season
The former Liverpool defender believes that Pochettino's achievements at Tottenham should have been taken into consideration as the Argentine deserved to see out the season rather than being given the sack unceremoniously in mid-season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said,
"It's a massive shock. There's no doubt Spurs have made a poor start to the season and had a poor 2019 domestically, but I think the job Mauricio Pochettino has done is miraculous.
"The timing is very strange. I'm shocked that it's a sacking and when I first heard the news I thought it may have been a mutual agreement.
"The fact he's been sacked - I find that really, really strange and I also think it's a bit out of order considering the job he's done.
"I think he should have been given until the end of the season to try and get Tottenham back where they should be and where Tottenham should be really is not actually in the top four.
"Tottenham should be a top-six club but he's made them a top-four club and also a club who almost won the title, almost won the Champions League.
"People may say he never won anything, but considering what he had at his disposal, in terms of the size of the squad, just shows Pochettino's quality as a manager. He certainly deserved to see out the season and get as close as possible to the Champions League."
Jose Mourinho has been heavilly linked with taking charge of Tottenham and it remains to be seen if the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager becomes Pochettino's successor at the north London club.
