Liverpool have reportedly made a £20 million bid for Southampton midfielder, Adam Lallana. The 25 year old has been a target for a lot of big clubs, including Manchester United, following his impressive performance this season. Lallana has played 37 games for the Saints, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists. He is set to be selected in Roy Hodgsons’ squad for the World Cup.
Brendan Rodgers has reportedly been watching Lallana for some time and wants him in his squad in order to strengthen his squad for next season.
Lallana however has indicated that he would like to stay at Southampton, “The club means the world to me. I’ve been here since I was 12 and I want to keep progressing with the club, I’ve got a great relationship with the fans.
“We’ve been on a journey, and this is the icing on the cake” he said after picking up 3 awards at Southampton’s end of season awards.
Manchester United are said to be Liverpool’s main competition for the midfielder, but Brendan Rodgers is looking to lure him away with Champions League football.
