Liverpool and Manchester United have both been linked with Atletico Madrid midfielder Adra Turan. The Turkish international has a release clause of £33m, but the Daily Express reports that both sides are willing to meet such a valuation as they bid to strengthen their respective squads.
Turan’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, has welcomed speculation for his client, suggesting that the player is eager for a move to the Premier League.
Bulut said: “A destination in the Premier League would be to the liking of the player and I can confirm there are clubs interested, like the two mentioned.
“He wants to work in England.
A versatile performer, Turan can play behind a striker or wide on either flank. He has made 11 league appearances for Atletico this season, scoring once and assisting twice. In European competition he has netted twice and provided one assist for the Madrid side.
Turan joined Atletico in 2011, having made 146 appearances in his homeland for Galatasaray.
Both Manchester United and Liverpool are rumoured to be looking for reinforcements in wide areas, as they United look to improve their performances this season and Liverpool look to sustain them. United currently have an array of attacking midfield players, but few of them have impressed and some are likely to be shown the Old Trafford exit door.
Liverpool currently sit second, but are looking to strengthen their squad as they bid to return to the Champions League.
Despite playing in an attacking midfield role, Turan has a higher tackle success than he does take-on success.
