What’s the rumour?
Liverpool are eyeing a shock move for Marouane Fellaini according to reports in L'Equipe. The French publication claims that the Reds see him as an ideal replacement for Emre Can.
The Belgian's contract at Manchester United expires at the end of this season and he is reportedly far from signing a new one. Jose Mourinho told him to 'shut up and sign the new contract' but there has been no development on it so far.
In case you didn’t know...
Liverpool face a similar situation at Anfield too. Emre Can's contract at the club is coming to an end this summer and he is yet sign a new one. Jurgen Klopp has repeatedly said that they have an offer on his table and that he wants the German to stay.
The heart of the matter
Liverpool are keeping tabs on Fellaini's contract situation at Manchester United but the move surely cause a ruckus in the World of football. Not only is is he leaving Old Trafford for Anfield, he is also a former Everton player – Liverpool's derby rivals.
L'Equipe report that Liverpool are not the only club chasing the Belgian star. Paris Saint-Germain and Besiktas are also interested in signing the United star.
Daily Mail, however, claims that Jurgen Klopp does not have Fellaini in his transfer wish list. The German manager has others targets and they have names Jorginho as the #1 target.
Rumour probability: 3/10
Fellaini is not a player who would fit into the Liverpool side. Moreover, they have Naby Keita coming in, it would be difficult to see them signing the Manchester United star.
