Liverpool: Possible formation/line-up for next season

Taken from Soccerchill

After a disappointing season in which Liverpool finished 8th in the Premier League, new winds are blowing at Anfield. Kenny Dalglish has been sacked and Brendan Rodgers installed as new manager. With Brendan Rodgers now in charge, the club is moving in a totally different direction.A lot of changes will be made at Liverpool. First of all the playing style will be changed. Liverpool will no longer rely on crosses to Carroll and width. Brendan Rodgers likes his teams to play possession football, football we mortals like to call “tiki-taka”. That means that some of the players bought by Kenny and Comolli will not be needed any more. First on the list is Andy Carroll, who has been linked with an exit from Anfield a lot recently. Other players that could leave the club are Charlie Adam, Alberto Aquilani and Joe Cole. Fabio Aurelio has already left the club, joining Gremio for free.Brendan Rodgers said in an interview that he expects to sign 3 to 4 players, although that number could be bigger depending on player sales. The most linked name in the media has been Roma striker Fabio Borini, who is now officially a Liverpool player. Other names linked are Clint Dempsey, Joe Allen, Ibrahim Afellay and Gaston Ramirez. From that list, it is obvious that Rodgers is looking for a winger and central midfielder, possibly even an attacking midfielder.Brendan Rodgers´s preferred formation is a Spanish-style 4-3-3 from the time Spain played with a striker. Wingers are used to cut inside and fullbacks provide width, and the midfield trio dominating the play, retaining possession and recycling the ball back into play. That style requires players with good passing, creativity and clever movement off the ball. And finally, there is the Andy Carroll dilemma. Should he stay or should he go? If he does leave Liverpool will most likely look for a replacement to play in the CF position. Newcastle, Fulham and West Ham have all been linked with a move for Carroll, and the reported price is £15 million. If Liverpool do sell Carroll for that price, a replacement in the region of around that fee or higher can be expected.

My potential Liverpool line up for the 2012/2013 season:
