Liverpool have been praised for the proper handling of PR disaster man Luis Suarez, after he made worldwide news by biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
Though the previous incident Suarez was involved in was not handled well, the club was sure that this time there was clarity in their approach. Jon Deacon, Business Director at Fast Track, praised the club’s reaction, according to PR Weekly. He said they had “learned well and moved forward”.
“There was a common consensus that the Evra-Suarez affair was not handled in the best way, whereas this time you have seen clear and decisive action,” he added.
The club said that they would make sure that he works on his discipline.
Following the news of him being fined, Suarez tweeted saying, “For my unacceptable behaviour yesterday the club has fined me today, I have asked the club to donate the money to…the Hillsborough Family Support Group for the inconvenience I have created to the Liverpool fans and to Ivanovic.”
