Liverpool are preparing a £20m bid to land Celtic forward Moussa Dembele when the transfer window reopens in January. The 20-year-old Frenchman was linked with a move to the Merseyside club when his contract at Fulham was nearing its end, however, he chose to move to Scotland.
A product of Paris Saint-Germain and Fulham, a club whom he joined in 2012 from PSG, Dembele moved to Celtic on a four-year deal in June 2016. Despite the fact that a number of Premier League clubs were keen on signing him, the youngster chose to join Celtic.
The player’s decision to move to the Hoops in search of regular first team football, along with consistent development has garnered excellent results. Dembele has scored seven goals in 12 appearances in the league. Moreover, he has credit to five goals in 12 appearances in the Champions League. In addition to this, he scored five more goals in the Scottish Cup, thus making it a total of 17 goals in 27 appearances, this season.

A regular feature in the France U-19 squad, the 20-year-old made his debut for the U-21 squad in October 2016, as a second half substitute and scored one of France’s goals in a 5-1 win over Georgia.
A promising young player, Dembele’s primary strength is his ability in front of the goal, he has a natural instinct of a goal scorer. His excellent finishing and the calmness he portrays in front of goal despite his age sets him apart. The 20-year-old is prolific up front and converts most chances that come his way.
The French forward’s Champions League displays have attracted interest from Europe’s elite clubs, including the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea and reports from Scotland suggest that Liverpool have joined their Premier League rivals for the youngster’s signature.
The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is planning to strengthen his options up front and sees Dembele as an ideal addition to his squad and reports suggest that the German manager is willing to guarantee regular game-time for the youngster in England.
The Merseyside club are preparing launch an early bid of £20m, of which £10m will be paid up front to the Scottish club. Furthermore, the deal will see the French forward earn £60000 a week.
