Liverpool are reportedly planning a move for highly-rated Brazilian star, Roberto Firmino, who is currently plying his trade for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.
The young talent has been highly-sought after by a number of clubs across Europe after his scintillating performances for the German outfit this campaign. Firmino is the highest scoring Brazilian in Europe this season, but despite that he did not make the Brazil World Cup squad. He also completed more take-ons (147) than accomplished Liverpool dribbler Luis Suarez.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old, but after signing Cesc Fabregas, Jose Mourinho is done for signings in the middle of the park. Rodgers however, after signing Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, is keen to make the Brazilian star his third signing of the summer.
Firmino is an exciting player and he is regarded as one of Brazil’s finest talents. According to the Metro, Liverpool chief Ian Ayre will jet out to Germany and open negotiations for the talented star, who just missed out on the Brazilian World Cup squad.
Bayern Munich and Barcelona have also been keeping tabs on the player and it is thought Liverpool may offer up to £20 million to get their man, despite the club valuing him at £15 million.
