Alberto Moreno is reportedly set to secure a move to Liverpool next week for a fee in the region of £22 million, according to reports.
Spanish newspaper AS confirmed the news via their official English Twitter page, revealing that Moreno had agreed a deal with Liverpool and that Sevilla had now agreed a £22 million fee with Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The Spanish left-back has been highly-sought after by a number of clubs, but Liverpool have been leading the race for some time. Moreno dismissed suggestions he had agreed to join Liverpool earlier this week, but it appears rumours were indeed true.
Brendan Rodgers is a huge fan of the talented 21-year-old and is a keen admirer of his talent. The Sevilla man helped his side win the Europa League this season by defeating Benfica in the final and his price-tag has shot up ever since then.
Tottenham were said to have held an interest in the Spaniard, particularly after he denied a deal had been agreed with Liverpool. However, that has now been put to bed and he is set to become a Liverpool player.
Moreno won 38/96 tackles in La Liga this season – a 40% success rate.
