Liverpool have announced that a deal in principle has been agreed with Ivorian defender Kolo Toure. The Manchester City man’s contract runs out on the 1st of July, and will bolster a back line short of experience following Jamie Carragher’s retirement and Martin Skrtel’s rumored departure.
The Ivorian becomes Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the close season window, and the second change in the Reds’ squad following the departure of Danny Wilson to Hearts of the SPL.
