Hello and welcome to Liverpool transfer roundup for the day. The Reds are currently facing a crisis in the defense department after losing Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dejan Lovren through injuries. Fabinho, who was used as a makeshift center-back, pulled his hamstring during Liverpool's 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace.
With James Milner being suspended for the game against Leicester City, and Nathaniel Clyne being loaned out, the German could have his say in the transfer market by bringing in someone to cover Trent Alexander-Arnold. Even though there have not been any concrete links for the January transfer window, the Reds have lined up a bid for the summer window.
Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi wanted by Liverpool
Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has refused to put pen to paper with the Blues. Earlier in this window, the English outfit had three bids rejected from Bayern Munich as they are in active talks with the forward to impel him to sign a new contract despite attracting interest from the Bavarians.
However, it seems like Bayern have to nudge Liverpool off who are also in pursuit of Hudson-Odoi. The German publication SportBild reported that the Reds met Hudson-Odoi's agent during early January who looks increasingly likely to move away from Stamford Bridge in the forthcoming window.
Liverpool and Bayern fight for Timo Werner
Liverpool are looking at the prospect of landing Leipzig striker Timo Werner during the summer transfer window. The German International could follow Naby Keita to Anfield if the reports are said to be true.
According to SportBild, Borussia Dortmund have withdrawn from the competition, with Liverpool and Bayern Munich being the only suitors. The report also claims that the Reds are willing to go toe-to-toe with the Bavarians for his signature in the summer window.
He has rejected a new contract which runs down in 2020. Any offer around between 35 and 40 million must be enough to seal the deal.
Liverpool target Steven Bergwijn to join AC Milan
Liverpool have been dealt a huge blow as their transfer target Steven Bergwijn is reportedly close to signing for AC Milan. Apart from Liverpool, the Dutch winger has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Inter Milan.
Despite attracting interest from these clubs, Bergwijn's club PSV Eindhoven are in advanced talks with AC Milan over a potential loan deal with a view to make it permanent for a fee of 25 million euros, according to the Italian publication CalcioMercato.
