Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom did not do justice to his name when he ended up leaving his £100,000 Porsche stuck in a muddy forest road, close to 5 kms from the nearest main road.
Why? Because his satellite navigation system led him there. Scumbag GPS, right?
England’s U21 captain, Wisdom is currently on loan at Derby County, and was going to the stadium for the home game against Sheffield Wednesday when the incident occurred.
Giving details of what transpired, a Derby County spokesperson said, “Andre visited a local shop on the way to Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday and, being new and unfamiliar to the area, he programmed the stadium’s postcode into his Sat Nav.
“The route provided took him down a less than traditional road, where conditions were also poor, and ultimately his car got stuck.”
It was a local mountain biker, Pete Irons who found Wisdom’s Porsche Panamera Turbo, worth £100,000 stuck in the ditch near Breadsall Priory Marriot Hotel outside Derby.
Surprised at the fact that the car had made its way so far into the muddy terrain, he informed the police.
He said – “To get to that point he would have to have come through an equally muddy section, I have no idea what he was thinking.
“We are miles from any main road, and the track doesn’t go anywhere, it’s just mind boggling how he ended up there.
“I think it will definitely need a bit of TLC in a garage.”
