Chelsea’s Loic Remy is poised to join Crystal Palace on a season-long loan. The French striker is set to rejoin his former manager Alan Pardew, under whom he had his best Premier League spell at Newcastle United.

It is reported that Crystal Palace even have the option of making the move the permanent for a fee of £12 Million next season.

Remy's chances of getting playing time at Chelsea is low after the arrival of Michy Batshuayi. The 29-year old, who joined the Blues in 2014, has only started 32 Premier League matches for the club and majority of his appearances were off the bench.

Remy has scored 9 goals in the Premier League for Chelsea and a total of 12 goals in his three years at the London club.

Remy's former boss Alan Pardew is keen on handing the striker a way out of Chelsea by signing him on loan. The French manager has already brought in Liverpool's Christian Benteke for a hefty fees of £32 Million and is looking to strengthen his attack again.

Goalscoring was the Eagles' main problem last season and Pardew making sure that they don't face such a crisis again with the addition of quality strikers like Christian Benteke and Loic Remy.

The move also might be the right one for the 29-year old as he will be rejoining his former manager Alan Pardew, who played his best spell in the Premier League. Remy scored 14 goals from his 26 appearances during his loan spell at Newcastle in 2013 and Pardew might be the man who can bring the former QPR man back to form.

Loic Remy is expected to sign for the club by Tuesday and might not have to wait until the deadline day.

Alan Pardew himself said that he expects the deadline day to be a busy one for the club as chairman Steven Parish is hoping for more signings.

“My chairman has a history of being busy on deadline day and I'm going to mark him tightly for ins more than outs. When you’re looking to change the way a team plays, trying to take a club forward, there’s casualties along the way. There’s also situations where you have to lay down what your position is – that’s what we’re doing.”

He continued by saying, “This squad I’ve got now is good enough to do well in this division but I still think we can improve on it slightly", the former Newcastle manager said when talking about the transfer deadline day.
