Manchester United’s new manager Louis van Gaal wants to bring Paul Pogba back to the club despite Juventus’ rumoured price-tag of £60 million, according to the Express.
Pogba, 21, left Man United after falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson after he failed to offer him a better contract and promises of first-team football. He left for Juventus where he has become a star of European football and heads into the World Cup with France as one of the most highly sought-after young players in the world.
Pogba has become a key aspect of Juve’s title-winning team, and at such a young age, has ousted Claudio Marchisio from the starting line-up.
Manchester United held an interest in the Frenchman throughout last season when David Moyes was considering bringing him back to Old Trafford, and it is believed that Van Gaal has reignited their interest in the midfielder.
Apparently, Pogba has been quoted at around £60m despite leaving the club for just £5m a couple of years ago.
United have apparently handed Louis van Gaal a £200 million transfer budget and the Dutchman has been linked with a whole host of midfielders, such as, Cesc Fabregas, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller, Pogba and Kevin Strootman to name a few.Only Carlos Tevez (19), Fernando Llorente (16) and Arturo Vidal (11) scored more for Juve in Serie A last season than Pogba (7).
