FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has said he expects the team's 8-0 thrashing of Deportivo de La Coruna will boost his players in the coming four La Liga games, that will decide the outcome of the title.
"The win at Deportivo was perfect for us. It has boosted us but we now have to confirm that in the games we have left," he said on Friday on the eve of La Liga game against Sporting Gijon on Saturday, reports Efe.
"I think they're having a unique season. They can still survive and you must remember that they were unable to strengthen their squad in the summer. I hold Sporting dear in my heart and the club reflects what the city means," Enrique said about his opponents.
Barcelona are second on the points table with 70 matches from 34 games, level on points with third-placed Atletico Madrid but above them on goal difference. Real Madrid are top of the table as they have played a game more.
Four matches are left of La Liga in what promises to be a pulsating end to the competition. The coach said that star striker Lionel Messi will play without any problems, despite having ankle issues in the last game. He added Brazilian striker Neymar is confident despite his recent lukewarm form.
