Luis Suarez signed a contract extension with Liverpool two days ago and they meant clear business. There were questions regarding his buyout clause and his wages. He was declared as the highest paid footballer in the history of Liverpool.
The buy-out clause for the Uruguayan has an option for the striker to leave the club only when the bid made is of a set price. The deal also allows Suarez to leave the Anfield only when the bid received is from a Non-English club.
The new deal now offers Suarez £200000 per week and bonuses. This deal has also ensured that the star forward does not leave the club this January and will be allowed to leave the club, if he wishes in the coming summer in case the club fails for the Champions League qualification and then a bid received is over his buyout clause.
The buyout clause is reported to be around £60-70 Million according to goal.com .
This has ensured that the rival English clubs do not get the opportunity to sign Suarez. This makes European giants like Real Madrid the bigger contenders for landing Suarez.
Real Madrid have been linked to Suarez ever since last transfer window though there was nothing official from the side.
