Brazil’s national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari announced his 22-man squad for Brazil’s friendlies on 7th September against Australia in Brasilia and against Portugal on September 10th in Boston, in the USA.
Chelsea‘s Ramires has been recalled to the squad after missing the Confederations Cup because he was late for a medical evaluation ahead of a friendly match in London.
Brazil played a friendly against Italy in Geneva, Switzerland in March and days later were to play a match against Russia in London. Ramires was out injured for the match against Italy and was to report for a medical evaluation in London but reported late and thus dropped from the squad.
Maicon too has been recalled after impressing Scolari during his spells at Manchester City and Roma. Scolari said he was happy with Maicon’s physical condition and that the player would bring experience to the side.
Henrique was the other surprise inclusion. The centre-back plays for Brazilian side Palmeiras in Serie B and has so far made two appearances for the Selecao.
