Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has hinted at an exit if he continues to be overlooked by Arsene Wenger. The 29-year old hasn’t started a single game in the Premier league this season and has played for a paltry 50 minutes in his four substitute appearances.
Speaking ahead of Germany’s Euro 2016 qualifier fixture against Gibraltar, the German forward said,"I cannot be happy with my current role in the team, That would be nonsense, if I say the opposite. We will see what happens. I want to play and I still have a lot of fun playing football.”
The former Koln man had revealed his disappointment last month after being relegated to the bench and was hoping for the situation to change, however, he has been used just three times since then.
He was being linked with a £10m move Spurs last month but laughed off such rumours on his twitter handle by commenting that "Hell will freeze over before this transfer would happen."
Ready to give one last go
Despite being unhappy, Podolski went on to add that he will stay on and try to fight for his place. Arsenal’s attack line has been in decent form as Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez have impressed off late which has made it even more harder for Podolski to make it into the first team.
"At the moment I am not thinking about changing the club. No question.
"I love the competition, going out there for 90 minutes, fighting your opponent, if you take this competition away from me I am not happy.
"We’ll see what happens in winter. If nothing happens, I stay. It is not that I am completely unhappy. But if you can’t do what you want to do in your life, then it is difficult,” he added.
