Rumour: Manchester United bid £22.5 million for Luke Shaw

After roping in Juan Mata from Chelsea, Manchester United have placed a bid worth £22.5 million for Southampton’s young full-back Luke Shaw, as reported by Mirror Football.

The 18-year-old defender had been extremely impressive in this season so far. David Moyes considers this move to be a long-term replacement for Patrice Evra.

United boss is keen to land the 18-year-old immediately by offering him the opportunity to start in the first team from the very beginning, as well as a lucrative long-term contract.

It is believed that Patrice Evra is serving his last five months in the club. Most likely, the French left-back would leave the club in summer.
