French club Lyon’s chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Swansea City are interested in signing Bafetimbi Gomis.
However, the 27-year-old has refused to make a move out from the club, resulting in the selling of the highly rated Anthony Martial to the big-spenders AS Monaco as Lyon needed to show a balanced financial set of results for the year.
Aulas claimed that Swansea have already agreed the terms related to the player and said: “I had the feeling and I was even almost sure we could have convinced Bafe [to leave].”
“The Swansea chairman came to Lyon to sign the commitment and we checked the offer was superior to what Bafe earns at Lyon.”
