Berlin, July 6 (IANS) Mainz striker Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting Saturday joined German Bundesliga rivals Schalke on a three-year deal.
The 25-year-old Cameroon international moved on a free transfer from Mainz to the league rivals by signing a contract until June 2017 with the "Royal Blues", reports Xinhua.
Choupo-Moting has received the jersey number '13' at his new club.
"I am delighted that Eric Maxim opted for us, as he is a versatile player," Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt told the clubs official homepage.
Schalke's new arrival scored 20 goals in 76 appearances during his three years at Mainz.
The "Royal Blues" completed last season in third position of the Bundesliga standings to snatch a berth for the UEFA Champions League.
