Madrid, May 27 (IANS) La Liga football club Malaga on Friday confirmed the experienced Juande Ramos as their new coach with a three-year contract.
It will be the second spell at the club for the former Real Madrid, Tottenham and Sevilla coach, who also had spells with Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano, reports Xinhua.
Ramos replaces Javi Gracia, who confirmed earlier in the week that he was leaving Malaga to accept a highly paid offer from Russian club Ruben Kazan.
Ramos faces a difficult task on his return to Malaga given that 10 members of the first team squad, among them veterans such as Weligton, Duda and Roque Santa Cruz and other first team regulars such as Raul Albentosa and Duje Cop are out of contact at the end of June along with five loan players.
The coming season will see a big reshuffle of the squad which rallied from a poor start last season to finish eighth in the league table this season.
