Man City hammered Andre Villas-Boas’ men by six goals to nil with Jesus Navas, Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo all getting goals.

Manchester City

Costel Pantilimon (45):Would surely have been expecting a tougher afternoon than he received, Pantilimon has yet to be really tested since coming into the side for Joe Hart.

Pablo Zabaleta (46): Surprisingly for a full back in a team that won 6-0, Zabaleta was involved more in defensive areas than going forward. He didn’t make a single key pass or assist, but won six tackles and three clearances.

Gael Clichy (32): Only misplaced three passes on a tidy afternoon on which he completed 92% of his passes.

Fernandinho (26): Completed three of five attempted take-ons as well as winning five of eight attempted tackles.

Martin Demichelis (53): Achieved a –frankly ridiculous – pass accuracy of 98%. This means that he only misplaced one pass all game.

Matija Nastasic (-1): Had little to do before his half-time withdrawal.

Jesús Navas (98): Set City on their way inside the opening 13 seconds with a sublime finish, before adding the sixth goal in the dying minutes of the game. Navas was the Squawka Man of the Match.

Yaya Touré (3): Didn’t get on the scoresheet, but provided a great assist for Sergio Aguero’s second goal.

Samir Nasri (15): Put three crosses into the Spurs box and made three chance-creating passes.

Alvaro Negredo (63): Came out well on top in the battle of Spanish strikers signed in the summer, providing a goal and the shot that led to Sandro’s own goal. Negredo had four attempts, with three on target.

Sergio Agüero (94): Gave the Spurs defence a torrid time, with all five of his shots on goal testing Hugo Lloris. Aguero had a 100% shot accuracy, hitting all five of his attempts on target.

Substitutes:

Joleon Lescott (33): Untroubled.

James Milner (16): Made 11 passes – one of them key – in his brief appearance.

Javi García (8): Came on when the game was already won and made 92% of his passes.

Tottenham:

Hugo Lloris (-84): Suffered with his kicking in the build up to two of City’s goals and saw his defence brutally torn apart by some clinical finishing.

Kyle Walker (-37): Despite the result, Walker posted his 3rd highest pass accuracy of the season (88%). Shame about the defending.

Jan Vertonghen (-46): Made 91% of his passes, but was exposed defensively as Navas twice scored from City’s right-wing.

Michael Dawson (-11): Only made three clearances over the course of the game.

Younes Kaboul (-26): Went long on too many occasions when in possession, ending up with a pass accuracy of 75%. He did however, win all of his tackles.

Lennon (18): One of Spurs’ most dangerous attackers, Lennon completed all four of his attempted take-ons.

Paulinho (15): One of Spurs better players on the day, Paulinho made 80% of his passes and took two shots on goal. However he epitomised the Spurs performance by failing to create a single chance from his central midfield area. He also attempted just one tackle and did not make a single interception.

Sandro (-30): Only gave the ball away three times, but whilst he was consistent he lacked the spark of quality that City’s midfield provided. He also won four of his five tackles.

Lewis Holtby (17): Made 25 passes in the first-half before suffering the ignominy of being replaced at half time by Emmanuel Adebayor.

Erik Lamela (-3): Only completed three of his six attempted take-ons and missed the target with both of his attempts on goal.

Roberto Soldado (-12): Did nothing. The £26m man only managed to make three forward passes over the course of the game.

Subs:

Mousa Dembélé (27): Completed three take-ons, but no tackles, interceptions or clearances.

Sigurdsson (17): Completed 96% of his passes but was on too late to have any kind of impact on the outcome of the game.

Adebayor (-2): Anything Arsenal can do, Spurs will have a crack at too. Battling Nicklas Bendtner as the Premier League’s comedy back-up striker, Adebayor had little impact on the game.
