#10 Elano - Retired

The Brazilian attacking midfielder was a force to behold at Manchester City. He had signed for them in the summer of 2007 from Shakhtar Donetsk for around £10m. He was a strong asset to their side in the 2007-08 campaign, but went quiet the second season. This led to him being sold on to Galatasaray for £6m in 2009.
From here, Elano was passed around clubs in Brazil for several years, playing for the likes of Santos FC, Gremio and Flamengo before finally settling at a club: Chennaiyin FC. He made this move in the summer of 2014, yet by January, he was back at Santos FC on a free transfer. What makes this even more strange is that he was shipped straight back to Chennaiyin FC on loan for six months, before retiring the next day on January 1, 2017.
He was appointed the assistant manager at Santos FC the very the same day, but by October, he had become the caretaker manager. This was a position he held until December that year, before he was sacked.
He's currently unemployed.
