Manchester United and Chelsea target Toni Kroos is yet to agree renewed terms with Bayern Munich, writes the Express.
The 24-year-old playmaker’s contract expires next summer, so the Bundesliga champions are working hard to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
Real Madrid are said to be leading the chase to entice him away from the Allianz Arena, although the player himself is still yet to ascertain what his best option is.
Kroos is currently on international duty with Germany ahead of their second Group G clash against Ghana on Saturday.
The Greifswald-born midfielder played the full 90 minutes as Germany thrashed a Christiano Ronaldo-led Portugal 4-0 in their World cup opener.
Speaking on his ongoing contract negotiations, Kroos stressed that there was no new developments.
“There’s nothing new to report,” Kroos said.
“With respect to the time before the World Cup, nothing at all has changed.
“If anything does happen, then you will all find out,” Kroos added.
Phillip Lahm and Thomas Muller both recently accepted new contracts at Munich, while Kroos has rejected the club’s first proposal. The 45-capped German international congratulated his teammates on their new deals.
“Congratulations to Philipp and Thomas for their decisions and extensions.”
