What's the news?
Former Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham believes that the Red Devils are playing to their strengths under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and that everything he touches turns into gold.
In case you didn't know...
Manchester United have revived their season under their caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a miserable start of the campaign with their ex-manager, Jose Mourinho. The Red Devils are yet to lose a game under the Norwegian, and have won nine games out of 10 since his arrival.
United are currently fifth on the Premier League table and are now favourites to finish in the Champions League qualification places for next season.
The heart of the matter
Speaking to Sky Sports, Danny Higginbotham said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves a lot of credit for turning United's season around.
He said:
"You've got to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unbelievable credit. Everything he touches turns to gold.
"I've heard a number of people saying anybody could have gone in and done that. No, they couldn't, I'm sorry but they couldn't. It doesn't work like that."
He further elaborated:
"What he's done is he's gone in there and looked at the team. What you see with the top managers and we see it all around world football, play your best players in their best positions and build a team around them in order to get the best out of them."
When asked whether the Red Devils could qualify for the Champions League next season, he said:
"I think so and that's something we wouldn't have said a couple of months ago.
"You have to give Solskjaer great credit because United are now playing to their strengths."
