Chelsea Player Ratings

Kepa Arrizabalaga - 7/10
A key player for Chelsea in the match with five saves to keep the scoreline minimal, though he had no luck with De Bruyne's goal.
Antonio Rudiger - 7/10
The German's long balls were awry but defensively he was solid as ever, making six clearances. No wonder Chelsea are so keen to tie him down to a new deal.
Thiago Silva - 6.5/10
The Brazilian was tidy as usual but eclipsed by other defenders around him.
Malang Sarr - 7/10
Sarr came of age in only his second league appearance, producing a superb tackle on Sterling in the first half and looking confident all game. He registered four interceptions, three tackles and two clearances.
Cesar Azpilicueta - 7.5/10
The Chelsea skipper was kept busy by Cancelo and Foden with their rampaging sprints, but the Spaniard didn't put a foot wrong. He registered six clearances in the game and five tackles.
N'Golo Kante - 6.5/10
He returned to the side for the first time since recovering from COVID-19 but offered no great shakes. The Frenchman was also sloppy in possession at times.
Mateo Kovacic - 6/10
Kovacic swung between his Jekyll and Hyde self, looking good on the ball at times and totally sloppy in the other. He also went into the book for a foul on Silva.
Marcos Alonso - 5/10
He was the first player to get booked for hacking down Sterling in the seventh minute and never regained his footing thereafter.
A disappointing performance from the Spaniard, that's only going to bolster Chelsea's ambition of buying a new left-back.
Christian Pulisic - 6/10
He, too, struggled to exert his influence on the match, looking completely anonymous.
Hakim Ziyech - 5.5/10
The Moroccan couldn't offer much going forward, even drawing Tuchel's ire for a horrendous pass that took the sting out of a promising move.
Romelu Lukaku - 5.5/10
Lukaku had two chances and he ended up wasting both.
Substitutes
Timo Werner - 6/10
He ran his socks off but couldn't get anything out of the match.
Callum Hudson-Odoi - 6/10
He stood over a promising-looking free-kick but wasted the opportunity with an awful effort.
Mason Mount - 5/10
Mount was the Blues' last substitute of the evening but failed to offer the attacking spark they lacked for much of the game.
