Manchester City had their title hopes crashed after a 2-0 defeat to Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
City are now prepared to break the record transfer fee in England by launching a £52 million bid for Atletico Madrid striker Falcao. With Sergio Aguero reportedly unsettled, City may look to offload the striker and use the transfer to bring in 27-year-old Falcao from Atletico Madrid.
With the Argentinian’s representatives already having met Real Madrid officials to secure a move, it’s likely that Aguero will move to the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer.
Meanwhile, City and Real have both joined the race for Brazilian sensation Neymar. Barcelona have already made a £50m bid for the youngster. But City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, has assured Santos that they can better the Catalans’ personal terms and will also offer the Sao Paulo club compensation.
Should Neymar’s transfer to City succeed, it can only make Tevez’s future uncertain and suggest a possible move out from the Etihad.
