Manchester City talks with Money.

MAnchester City hopes to have a great season ahead.

Money can buy you everything, but not trophies. Money can buy great players, but not performance. Rich United Arab Emirates businessmen by the name of Sheikh Mansour, owner of the Manchester City expects his team to “suddenly” play like champions and take the world by storm. His investment in the team is for everyone to see.

Everyone has gone gaga over the Manchester City squad which they possess for the season. It has quality and depth in it, without a shadow of doubt. Mancini, their coach also faces pressure to win titles, which is not going to be a cup of tea for him. He had been given enough cash by the owner to build a team, strong enough to challenge the top clubs of England. His wish list was something which one would like to call “world class stars”. He had an eye on Torres, Drogba, Gerard, Terry etc and many other class players. The results in their initial matches of the Barclays Premier league are really not up to the mark, apart from their display against Liverpool which gave their fans a reason to smile. Some of their major signings during the summer were Silva, Balotelli, and Milner just to name a few.

Manchester City boasts of stars in their squad who have proved themselves in leagues around the world. There is no dearth of talent in the squad, but talent alone does not win you matches. There is something called team work too. These players need to play collectively as a team, if they are to be a force to be reckoned with.

Manchester City has too many stars in their team, which can have both positive and negative effect on the club. The difference between top class team like Barcelona and Manchester City is that, Barcelona will produce players through their youth system, but Manchester city will splurge huge money in the market and purchase these finished products.

Manchester City has around 2 players for each and every position. Hence every time these players put on their jerseys to play, they have an external pressure to perform or they might just perish for the next match. These quality players hate the term “bench warmers”. Mancini has a tough task of selecting his players for the match and somehow keep them happy too.

History has proved that, a team studded with star players does not guarantee success .Real Madrid fits the bill perfectly. They spend money on the transfer market like USA on its military troops. They have not been able to win major trophies even with the likes of Ronaldo, Kaka, Ramos, Casillas, Alonso, etc on their squad. Is Manchester City also moving on the same mould?
