Hello and Welcome to the daily Manchester City Transfer corner.
The January transfer market is into its fourth week, and several big name players linked with the reigning Premier League Champions. The Citizens are still in the hunt for a central defensive midfielder and looking to strengthen a couple of other areas on the pitch as well.
Hence without much ado, let's look at what's today's edition of transfer round-up has in store for us.
#4 Man City approach Palmeiras to sign Ivan Angulo
According to reports, Manchester City has proposed an offer to sign the Colombian winger, Ivan Angulo in future from Palmeiras.
The 19-year-old joined Palmeiras on loan from Envigado, but City is keeping tabs on the U20 International. The Palmeiras director said that -
“A representative of Manchester City wanted to propose a future agreement.
“We didn’t even want to open a conversation. We are not interested in an Angulo partnership at this time.”
It wouldn't be the first time that Manchester City has proposed a partnership with the Columbian side after Gabriel Jesus signed in 2016.
#3 Man City lining up a loan move for Schalke's Sebastian Rudy
It's no mystery that Manchester City is seriously considering a replacement for Fernandinho whose growing age has raised concerns among the City faithful. The Brazillian's unprecedented importance has raised alarm bells within the club who are now preparing life after Fernandinho.
In recent times, several players got linked as a back up for the midfielder, but none of the deals seem to materialize, with Schalke's Sebastian Rudy the latest to appear on the scene. According to the Sun, Guardiola is an admirer of the German International and knows him well from his time in the Bundesliga.
Rudy has struggled this season at Schalke, and the club has offered him on loan if there is a fee involved. He would undoubtedly be an ideal back up for Fernandinho as the title race gets tighter every week.
#2 Man City join Chelsea and United in Aaron Wan-Bissaka race
One of the standout performers for the Eagles this season has been their young right full back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The 21-year-old England International is a first-team regular at Palace who has caught the eye of some of Premier League's top six which includes Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.
The right-back has a contract till 2022, but if a top club comes calling in, it would be difficult for Wan-Bissaka to let it go.
#1 Real Madrid target City's Bernardo Silva
According to the Mirror, Real Madrid has made Bernardo Silva their number one priority in the summer with the Portuguese still having three and a half years left on his current deal at Manchester City.
Along with David Silva, Bernardo has performed exceedingly well for Man City this season with the latter regarded the ideal heir to David in the future. He is highly admired by Pep Guardiola whose work ethic got praised after the victory against Liverpool earlier this month.
The defending Premier League Champions would surely negotiate new contract terms with the £70m-rated winger in case the Spanish giants decide to spend big in the summer.
