Even though United were in the back foot early in the game due to the injuries, they had better chances on the night and could have won the game as well. Solskjaer’s adherence to a counter-attacking football ensured that the home side always looked deadly on the break and with a little more precision, they could have sealed the game.

The first arrive in the first half, when Lingard almost got to the end of a Lukaku through ball, forcing Alisson into a good save. After the break, United had more chances on the break and Young played a great ball to Rashford, who, had he been 100% fit, could have scored – he had scored similarly against Tottenham and Leicester.
Then there were a few set pieces where United looked dangerous but was caught offside. In fact, United did have the ball in the back of the net – through Matip – but Smalling was correctly judged offside.
As such, the game was there for the home side and with a little more precision, they could have made the evening memorable.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
