Manchester City Player Ratings against Manchester United
Ederson - 7/10
The City custodian's lack of clean sheets ended in the derby win over United. Though Ederson had just one save to make all game, his ball-distribution was world-class on the night. The stopper completed 24 of his 25 passes in the game; two of his three crosses disrupted United's midfield.
Kyle Walker - 7.5/10
Walker produced a fabulous performance on the night. He did not lose a single duel, and he completed six of his nine long balls. He also completed 121 passes against United.
John Stones - 7/10
As his Portuguese centre-back partner explored the higher areas of the pitch, Stones looked to thwart United on the counter. He lost the ball seven times on the evening, though, which sparked a few opposition attacks. But overall, the Englishman produced a decent outing.
Ruben Dias - 7/10
Dias was the third-best Portuguese player for City on the pitch. He was a brick wall in defence, disrupting the United midfield with his line-breaking passes. He completed six of his seven long balls attempted, and lost the ball just once.
Joao Cancelo - 9/10
Cancelo was the Man of the Match and probably the biggest difference between the two sides on the night. He has improved a lot under Pep Guardiola.
The left-back saw his shot deflected in by Bailly for City's opener, and his assist allowed Bernardo Silva a simple finish. It was one of the best individual performances seen by an away player at Old Trafford.
Kevin De Bruyne - 7/10
It was not an unusual day at the office for De Bruyne. He weaved some good, stylish passes for his teammates in the middle and the final third. The Belgian also put in a great defensive effort in the second 45 minutes to help City beat United.
Rodri - 7/10
The Spaniard was the fifth defender in the second half for City as the Sky Blues faced a bit of heat from their hosts. Rodri, though, maintained his position to deny United much-needed space to create and score. It was a superb defensive midfielder's performance from the ex-Atletico Madrid player.
Ilkay Gundogan - 6.5/10
Gundogan had just one good moment in the game, playing a perfect through-ball to Phil Foden in the first half. Otherwise, he looked like the only weak link in the City attack.
Gabriel Jesus - 6.5/10
It seems high time that Gabriel Jesus returns to his striker role for City. The Brazilian has looked a bit off his usual self, playing as a winger on the right flank, barring a few good performances last month. He was hardly seen in the second half as United carved out dangerous attacks.
Bernardo Silva - 8/10
Silva had a superb outing on the night after rumours of his exit in the summer. He had three successful dribbles from four attempts on the night.
Phil Foden - 7/10
Though Foden was not on the scoresheet, he was a livewire throughtout the game. He ensured that Wan-Bissaka and Eric Bailly had a lot to do while Joao Cancelo had enough space to work his magic,
Phil Foden also performed exceptionally well off the ball. He hit the woodwork once as City dominated United at Old Trafford.
